Resolutions: Print Errors

Examples of Print Errors include but are not limited to:

  • Extremely crooked print (can exclude hoodies; see this doc to learn more about crooked print on hoodies)
  • Extremely off centered print
  • Wrong print (e.g. somebody else's logo on the customer's items, the front print put onto the back of the garment, the wrong print colour used compared to the proof)

Important things to Note before offering compensation:

  • If the items are deemed to not be defected, we will not be able to offer any compensation. If there is ever any doubt, check with a lead.
  • Missed print does NOT fall into the Print Errors category. See this document for how to handle missed print.

How to Handle a Print Error:

1. Ask for a picture of the defected garments.  We will only refund / replace items that we receive stock back for. 

2. Review pictures / stock received back to determine if the item is defected.

3. If the item is indeed defected, offer the client ONE OF the following options: 

IF THE CLIENT RETURNS THE DEFECTED STOCK

  • Reprint for the defected garments
  • or refund for the defected garments

IF THE CLIENT KEEPS THE DEFECTED STOCK

  • Cash Credits in the amount of the defected pieces 
    • Need pictures for each defect
    • Credit amount is based on the net of tax.  
  • or a % refund on the defected pieces. (Start with offering a 20% refund but you have the flexibility to go up to 40%)
    • Need pictures for each defect

If the item is printed slightly defected but still usable as-is, offer a 30% in cash credits back on the defected pieces only. See lead for clarification when needed.
